ER Adoption OK'd by Chief of Staff

Saturday I get to pick up this clean, one owner ER. The widowed lady was getting rid of it through a mutual friend. She remembers her husband buying it in 1949 but she's not positive. I promised not to part it out and give it a good home. From the input here, I believe I'm going to use it as a lathe / disk sander mostly. I want to put it right under the garage window as my turning needs better light. I'd like to thank my wife for making my dreams come true, I told the truth even though I didn't think that would work. I have dwonloaded the manual in pdf's. It looks like it has everything it came with new from the pics, I was too excited to look at everything...in the plastic bag was.....a 2nd quill assebley. :D

I did not equip with Shopsmiths in spite of the setups but because of them.

Looks to be a late model, probably 52 or 53.
What's the serial number?

The machine looks good, nice addition.

It appears as though the headrest could be moved out a little as there is more tube exposed outside of the tiebar than is required for the tailstock/ext. table support. Course it would only matter if you are trying to turn something to the machines length capacity or sanding/drilling something tall.

Shipping IN to KY is much much less than to the 'other side'(of the rockies)!;)

The problem with that statement is YOUR on the 'other side'(of the rockies).
SS 500(09/1980), DC3300, jointer, bandsaw, belt sander, Strip Sander, drum sanders,molder, dado, biscuit joiner, universal lathe tool rest, Oneway talon chuck, router bits & chucks and a De Walt 735 planer,a #5,#6, block planes. ALL in a 100 square foot shop.
