I had to provide my own 520 rails for my Jointech Sawtrain's Router table.

The front rail - main table is 518488 (changed to 522371)

The front rail - extension/floating table is 518489 (changed to 522367)

The rear rail - main table is 518490

The rear rail - extension/floating table is 518491

Side Note: I did have trouble finding these numbers and ultimately had to rely on my own documentation because I could not find them on Shopsmith.com.

The descriptions for both of the front rails are nondescript and NEED ATTENTION.

Thanks Dusty.
Again, I could not have done it without you.
So here is a symbol of you being a good Shopsmith neighbour.

I got to thinking about this and subsequently confused myself. What changes have occurred to the front rails that would necessitate a part number change? The original numbers sited above came from documentation I received with my 520 upgrade kit. These main table rails have the magnetic strip.

So the question is: How do the 522371 and 522367 numbers differ?

I do miss the Product Change Bulletins that I had to review every week when I worked for a defense contractor. They would answer that question.

I would guess that the front rail change was the direct read scale change. I would imagine the old number is without the magnetic part, while the new part number has it.

That might be a logical guess but that is not the case.

In my post, the original numbers are for the parts that I have which are for rails that support the direct read scale. My rails have magnetic strips.

The "changed to" numbers are what pops up if you perform a part number search for the original numbers on shopsmith.com right now.

SKU #'s changes could be from VENDOR changes?
