I had been attracted to the add because it had a power station and an earlier thread had indicated the planer was heavy to be moving around so I had thought a semi permanent home would be good if I ever got a planer. So my question is is there a real incompatibility? Or is it just a slower operation with the lower hp and rpm?
The Power Station is not designed to drive the thickness planer.

It will work but marginally. The maximum speed from the Power Station will give you a jointer speed of 4375rpm.

Sorry to have created the duplicate thread issue. So, will lower speed make poorer quality surface

It won't work marginally unless you modify the power station. It is not designed to have the planer mount on it.

Yes, the lower speed would reduce the quality of count. But there may be a more important (more limiting issue).

SDSSmith: Please explain. I have both a Crafters Station and a Power Station and I can mount my jointer on either of them. What am I missing???
