Belt sander

I recently purchased a used 6" Shopsmith belt sander. I do not know its age, but the color side housing pieces is the more recent grey (but it has the smaller dust port). I plan to take it apart for cleaning, and I am considering sanding and painting the side housing pieces, which are dinged up. I have a can of the Shopsmith grey spray paint. Are the side pieces powder coated, and if so, will the spray paint bond properly?
I did not receive with my purchase the Instruction Manual (and parts list). This 2006
thread indicates that I will need to purchase the manual from Shopsmith; is that still the case?
Thanks for your help.
Hank

Yes you can purchase the manual from SS and I think the cost is $9.95 + shipping.

Thanks, S Brian. I placed an order with Shopsmith for the Manual.
Any advice, anyone, about the spray paint?

I do not believe you will have a problem with the paint adhering to the original paint.

At least no more so than any other paint.
Good prep dictates you should clean and scuff old paint with sandpaper.
