Hi.
I just got a Mark V, Model 500 from a friend and several attachments. There are a few things that I don't know what they are.
Can you help?
Two photos are attached.
Thanks.
Dennis

The 2nd pic is of rub collars. They go on a shaper arbor to prevent too big of a bite. The workpiece will glide along a fence and rub on the collar. The collar(s) provide the same purpose as bearings on router bits.

Shaper must be used with a split fence like this one. http://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/catalog/ms_shaperdrumsanderfence.htm

EDIT!!! AFTER READING DAVE'S POST (JUDASPRE1982) (NEXT POST) I NOW NOTICE THE THICKNESS -- THEY ARE NOT RUB COLLARS. DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE FOR.

Rub collars are thicker than the 3 smaller items.

I do see a difference in some of the diameters.

The small round face washer is unfamiliar to me now that I look closer.

Anyone else? :D

I agree that the 3 larger washers are from the molder/dado arbor.

The smaller washer in the bottom left looks like it may have straight 'sides' in the center. I've seen these used on circular saws that have a flat on both sides of the shaft to capture the washer and prevent torque from unscrewing the bolt holding the blade. Don't think it's a SS pieces/part.

You nailed it! A double d washer(non-ss). Dado arbor spacers(3).
