Graduation

Post by mrhart »

Tomorrow is my sons last day of high school. My wife and I have hers, mine and ours plus a rental (another story) and this will leave only my little girl left in school. 3 more years and I will have completed the task of seeing 6 out the door.
My boy who is graduating will eventually be doing some woodwork. He pays attention to what I'm doing and wants me to make him a bunch of stuff recently. I can see he appreciates the time and effort into even the simplest things and he's heard me ramble about "this was my dads" ect. I think he will value whatever I make him.
My little chick still refers to me as the "shop nerd" but I'll get her to come around. I betcha I can get her sanding or something in the next 3 years. She's a work in progress, and lord help me, now a high school cheerleader like her older sister.

Antone else have grads this month?

I am more than a score removed from my own, but two GC have already graduated and one other is entering HS next year, then there is the 9 yr old left.

Sadly none share my 'affliction'!;)

We have twin boys. both of them are 32.:D
One is in Tucson. He's a certified Diesel Mech. and supervises a petroleum products transportation facility. No kids, darn it.
The other one is a MSGT in the AF and is on Okinawa. He and his wife have two kids. A girl age 4 and an a boy age 5.
Both sons seem to enjoy woodworking.....in Dad's shop. Neither has the room for a shop at their homes.

36 year old daughter just graduated from law school at Nova Southeastern University in Davie, FL. Grandchildren are 5 and 2. Grandson wants things made. Waited until I was out of the war before starting and then waited another 5 years. Was in my early 30's when they came along.

I just love it when she says I can go make sawdust. ;) :D

My oldest grandson graduates Monday from Joplin High School. If you remember almost a year ago the high school and at least one elementary school were destroyed by an F-5 tornado. The high school is now in a Mall.

The guest speakers for Monday night are Governor Nixon and President Obama. It might be a long ceremony.
