Essentric tail stock insert

I bought a Mark V 510 recently and it was missing several parts. One was the tail stock insert. I ordered one from a friend and it arrived. I put it in the hole and the fit was good. I tried to tighten the set screw and it pushed the front of the insert out. The groove in the insert did not line up with the set screw. Are there different insert for different models (500, 510, 520)?

Yes, I spelled it wrong. Do all (5014379) Eccentric Mounts have a groove where the set screw tightens up?

No, the ones that I have looked at do not have a groove. I have an extra if you need it.

I would like to see a pix of this 'grooved' eccentric. This has me baffled.

Here are the pictures of the eccentric. It looks like someone put it in a metal lathe and turned it down.

Interesting! It appears that the centering lip was also removed.

Also shown is a less drastic 'repair'(jb weld).

This 'feature' is not one of ss's best.;)

I wonder if this is from a clone. It does not look like an OEM Mark V/5 eccentric.
