don't know the part name?

I am a newbie and bought a used Mark V back in Christmas. I don't know if I had the wrong speed setting for the drill press and/or I was asking it to do too much. anyhow, am going to replace the headstock but am wanting to replace the plastic piece that broke. the best i can describe it is as an internal plastic coupler that allows the drive shaft to extend. i'm having issues with my photo not being the specific dimensions so i hope my description helps. Any help on this would be great. Do people recycle old parts from non working Shopsmiths?

Why are you replacing the headstock. If all that is broken is the drive sleeve, #57 in the previous, post then all that is required is to replace that part. Are you having other issues? If you are then please post them here so the community can help.
What were you doing that caused the failure? I have never seen that pert
fail in about 28 years that I have been fooling with SS headstocks.
There are a lot of people here that can help and perhaps save you some bucks.

Could it possibly be 'loose' rather than 'broken'? It requires a very stout push to secure it(or remove it) to the main shaft(the splined quill shaft slides through it).

Lastly, if it is an early Gilmer model, that part is merely a dust shield(no power transmitted through it).

P.S. E-bay is full of parts for recycling, but that part is seldom sold separately.
