My spindle lock knob is in in the way when I try to use my speed control. Is there a way to change the position on this. It is on a brown and gold Mark 5. Thanks Ivan

Is that the one that advances the quill? Just unscrew the handle till ya can advance it to the next indent and retighten it.

To change the position the headstock lock handle locks in, I would drop the motor and pull the upper portion of the headstock. Once removed, I would lightly file both wedges, reinstall the upper portion of the headstock and lock it in place. If there was still interference, I would repeat until I had the handle locked where I wanted it.

I will check tomorrow, but I think there is a wavey washer on it. It may be I was over tightening it because to day I tried the spindle with the wing nut straight uo and down and I could not move the spindle. Ivan
