That is the cloniest clone I have seen. Appears the 'manufacturer' no longer 'exists'.

Looks like the Woodmaster. Menards , the home improvement chain sold it as the PHD. There is one on Nick Englers site. The one on his site has another switch on th headstock, but the ends looks the same.

Here is a link on vintage machinery.

Clone Headstocks

Post by billmayo »

What are the way and bench tube sizes (OD)? What is the length from the front of the quill arbor to the end of the drive sleeve shaft (overall length)? Any infro on the motor? Could be a Total Shop, Wood Master or Wood Craft based clone. So far, I have been unable to find any internal Shopsmith headstock parts that could be used to repair any of these clone headstocks. I have been successful replacing these clone headstocks with a Shopsmith Mark V headstock even when the clone way tubes are smaller.

I will do all the measuring today after work. The thing looks new! Guy gave me a set of new Footprint lathe tools, a router lettering jig, a router guide jig, table saw attachment and all for $80.00.

If it runs, you probably got a good deal. It looks as though it has been cared for. Keep it clean and more importantly, keep it lubricated and aligned.

Good luck with your new toys. Whatever you do, play safe.
