I-Box

Mine came yesterday.
Got to do some mods to it before it'll work with the SS.
Incra doesn't make one for the SS so, they sent me an SS bar off their miter gauge that they do make for the SS. Screw holes are in the wrong places for the I-Box. Gotta drill and tap.

A minor problem I'm sure! glad to hear of their 'co-operation'.

I don't know. I haven't looked closely at the screws that I have to tap for. I may not have the right thread pitch....or size. In this area, finding one may be problematic.

I've drilled and tapped aluminum bar with good success but the Incra Miter Bar is steel.
Will it be any different tapping that steel bar than doing so if it was aluminum?

Does this task demand that you use those specific screws? If you are tapping holes in the miter bar for screws, it seems like the I-Box locations for those screws would be through holes.
Looking at the
I-Box Manual (fig. 4), it looks as though the screws are #10-24 x 3/8". A standard size.

Here is my I box. Heck! I can't even take it apart! Let alone mount it to my Mark V.

I believe they are smaller, dusty. They have to fit in small slotted holes in one instance and the same size but not slotted, the other instance. I'll maybe get to take a closer look tomorrow. It's candy makin' day so, I might be "stuck" in the kitchen. If I can't get to it tomorrow, I won't have a chance until we get back from Tucson on the 28th.

Looks like the chain my father made, out of a single piece of wood, during a camp-out one week-end. (Well, doesn't LOOK like it, but it reminded me of that chain.)
Dad did all the drilling, with a hot poker, and carved it with his pocket knife. I did one, later, on my first ER.
