Strip Sander
I've read that one can use a strip sander on a band saw and have found places to buy one. What has been the experience of you who have used it?

Even if you found a belt of the proper length, I don't think it would work well on the Shopsmith because of the way that a bandsaw blade tracks on the back of the upper wheel and uses two of the bearings to keep the blade from dropping off the back of the wheel. I think the bearings would simply shred a sanding belt, similar to what happens when a sanding belt on the belt sander begins to drift off center.
