We had our second annual Pinewood Derby car day today. Once again, Grampa cut the car out on the bandsaw and Jax did the finish work.
Here's a post from our first annual build day.
And a couple of shots from today:

Another year older made a lot of difference in patience and concentration:)
Jax decided it would be easier this time to NOT put the wheels on before he painted

Projects and "stuff": http://www.bfulgham.com/JAlbum/Woodworking_Index/
That's great. I have a grandson who is 6 and he's beginning to be interested in some stuff like that. He doesn't like the noise of the machine, but loves to put kits together. He will focus on his project and he understands processes. It is a wonderful feeling to see them learning what you have learned. You left some of yourself with the younger ones.

I just love it when she says I can go make sawdust.
I have some great memories of pine car derbies where my grandfather helped me, and my kids and I have had some good times working on their cars when they were younger - cars that looked "fast" for my boy and cars that looked like animals for my girls. We actually got pretty good at making them fast too. I am so looking forward to helping my grandkids do these some day too!
