Wishful 'Thinking'?

Wonder what the 'reserve' was? Wonder who bid all that high?

Should we resort to the old addage "A sucker is born every minute."? It's hard to imagine a machine that old having never been used. I suppose we'll see more parts on eBay soon. :D

That's pretty amazing the bidding got up that high...must have been a back and forth bidding war between a few folks not in tune with going rates on CraigsList. The seller is delusional if their reserve is higher than that - I've seen a handful of 510's in seemingly excellent condition sell for <=$500, so I don't care how new or clean the 500 is, there's no way I'd choose it over a 510, especially when the 510 can be found for less. It says Local Pick-Up Only - what was the location?
'78 Mark V 500 #27995 (my Dad bought new)
'82 Mark V 500 #96309
Two '47 10E's (serial#4314+6149) - one a dedicated drill press and the other a lathe
Two 10E/ER in parts slowly being restored…#26822 and #????? (SS plate missing)
SPT's: Bandsaw, Belt Sander, Strip Sander, Jointer, Jigsaw, Biscuit Joiner

"Never used" and a "display model" that "purchased at Shopsmith" where it was "already assembled" per the description. Really.

Odd, then, that it has 500 style tables yet the headstock has the new style safety switch.

Given the seller's honesty, it is probably safe to assume the seller has numerous accounts and was shill bidding on his (or her) own item.

The seller has a '61 HD Softail up for auction as well. He is asking $6100 even though it has a "$20,000 paint job". Hmmm Nice looking bike but it makes me wonder.

Personally? I think I'll continue to disparage and ridicule people I know rather than speculate about those I don't.

I would not recommend doing so to folks I know unless it is in their presence and in the proper spirit(good natured ribbing).

Commenting on the actions of anyone is a matter of does the shoe fit.

The unknown is the reason behind those actions. Assuming the reason(s) is speculation.

In any event at least three individuals actions are unusual and not something we that are commenting would do because we know better.

i.e. tis a curiosity of interest.
