I'll take the bait. It looks like (begining in the center and moving out) Ebony, Oak, ans Mahagony. Although the last one, Mahagony leaves me wondering, given it's a softer wood. That's my guess!

Lots of great guesses, the outer part is Purple Heart!! Try again on the lighter species and the inner core. Come on guys I have faith in you!!!
