Time for a quiz!!!!! What species of wood was involved in the making of this mallet that I made recently?

I've done hundreds of hours of research on this mallet, and I believe it's Canadian wood. :D

I'll take the bait. It looks like (begining in the center and moving out) Ebony, Oak, ans Mahagony. Although the last one, Mahagony leaves me wondering, given it's a softer wood. That's my guess!

African Blackwood, White Oak, Purpleheart(very hard!).

Lots of great guesses, the outer part is Purple Heart!! Try again on the lighter species and the inner core. Come on guys I have faith in you!!!

the light species is a North American wood

+1 on ash, plus a billet of rosewood in the midde?
