Bagel Cutting Guide finished

Post by saminmn »

We have a new bagel store in town and my wife loves them. I remembered an article for a bagel cutting guide. It was in Wood magazine issue 213. I finished it last week. I had to enlarge the area holding the bagels as the pattern was for a much smaller bagel than our new source. The woods used are maple and mahogany. Used a couple of coats of Minwax tung oil followed by a couple of coats of satin polyurethane. Want to thank those that suggested I not worry about dust nibs until rubbing the piece with steel-wool (after all coats of polyurethane were applied). After rubbing, a coat of wax was added.

It was a simple project, but it came out very nicely.

I have never seen a bagel as small as the pattern in the magazine allows for, so you will want to see if it is typical of what your used to. (BTW, never use a preposition to end a sentence with:D :D  )
