Cool idea!!! Did you have to "beef up" the hinge mounting to the door/frame to support the extra load?

Thanks mountain. I did reinforce the hinge side to support the extra weight.

Neat project. How well does it hold books and do they stay put if you open the door or do you have to take stuff off the shelves before using it?

Should hold everything fine without removing anything.

I weigh about 250 and hung on the door for a bit and it didn't give at all.

That's a good question,im not sure.
My daughter will have a mix of trophys and nick-nacks on the shelves who knows maybe a few books.

True Rpd, this is an attic access so the door will only see occasional use.
