I been hacked!!!!!

Apparently some cretin hacked my yahoo e-mail account. Some forum members have received e-mails that I did not send! So far they seem innocuous(do not click on the link embeded) and I hope that is the case. Time will tell.

The e-mail title bears my name. If you get one, please delete it without 'opening' it.

I just overcame a hacking of my Comcast account. Talking with Comcast support, they suggested I go in, change my password and secret question(s). I did and the perpetrator was vanquished! Maybe that's all you'll need to do too.

Change your Yahoo password. Don't jsut increment up a number, change it completely. Happened to me on Sunday, and it happened to a handful of people whom I was in their address book prior to that. It's happened to me one other time in the past as well, and it will keep sending spam out periodically until the password is updated.

This does remind me of another reason we see so many fake members. One tool of hackers is to get a username and password list from a seemingly harmless site and then try them out on real targets like email and banking. So many people use the same usernames and passwords in multiple places that it actually works. So keep that in mind...at least don't have identical passwords at different websites.

The cretin also changed my password so I had to go the 'my account may have been compromised' route and change it again myself. I also disconnected from the isp so I should have a different isp address now.

Had not thought about the private questions though. I will be logging off yahoo when not actually active in the future!!!!

Totally different pw!!!

My password wasn't changed, but my cretin had answered the secret questions wrong and locked them out for 24 hours.

The first time this happened last year maybe, there was a screen where Yahoo would show you a history of logins with locations to see if someone other than you was doing this. That way at least you can isolate the problem to the internet and not a virus on your computer.

Logging off doesn't have anything to do with it as far as I can tell.

I just thought shutting the door might help! I have many times been logged onto yahoo multiple times at once!

How does one get access to the login history?

The place you change your password, a few items down is view sign-in history. Here is a copy of mine, you can see someone from Malaysia logged in through one of Yahoo's "partner applications" whatever that means, and then into the real account, on Sunday. The CA was me trying to log in through my phone to shut it down.

I should have also added, maybe of particilar note to db5. I noticed other people getting hacked when I woke up Sunday morning and noticed emails from my ex at 3am. I knew it had to be fake, no body uses email when they're drunk dialing!
