Model ER

Post by thewriteturn »

Hi, just bought a ER at a Estate sale and I was wondering if anyone knows if the motor would be interchangable with a SS 500 motor? Brought my 500 motor to work this week, to have sparky's check it out, it stopped running last week. Would like to keep the ER as a drill press, but may have to use the motor on my 500 till I find a replacement. Thanks any info will be appreciated.

10ER motor vs Mark V motor

Post by billmayo »

The Mark V motor has a fan sheave and a floating sheave and a unique mounting base. The 10ER has a 3 step fixed pulley and a standard motor mount. No major parts can be exchanged between the 10ER and the Mark V. The SPTs will only mount on the 10ER with unique brackets that only work with the 10ER. I find that arbors and sanding disks can be exchanged.
