Bandsaw blade disposal?

Post by reible »

I broke a blade yesterday and since I've always like to get them broken down and recycled this is what I do.

I take the blade in leather gloved hands and a sturdy pliers and render it in to small pieces. We have a couple of enterprising people who drive around on garbage day and pickup scrap metal so I can the bits and put it out for them.

So I'm interested in what others do. Post your ideas or options that you use.

Ed,
I take those little pieces and stack them together. Alternate the teeth and wrapped with duct tape, they make excellent rasps.
Someday, I might set some in a holder with handle.
