Part A connects to Part C?????

Finally got the new to me shopsmith unpacked and all the parts laid out.
Thanks for the great packing job, Bill!
After poring over an exploded parts diagram, I got one part, a leg, assembled.
I have my original Shopsmith right in front of me as a reference model, an exploded parts diagram too, and I still find pockets (make that buckets) of befuddlement. An ME, I’m not.
And the wife doesn't understand why I have a problem putting the pups’ halters on right.

If the parts on the floor are not positioned in the same direction as the parts in the pictures, I have the same problem.
Wiring the plug on the travel trailer to connect with the plug on the truck was a lot of fun.

Lucky the other 'Smith was handy. Got everything except the table assembled. Get that done after lunch.
I don't remember the motor being that heavy,:o
I did the trailer/truck rewire once. Don't never want to again!

Fortunately there is a starndard way to wire
ALL Truck connections to
ALL trailers. If followed, switching trailers or pull vehicles never becomes a problem.

It's nice to be able to pull the boat trailer or the snowmobile trailer or the utility trailer with any tow vehicle.

I am embarrassed to say that I have that diagram and I understand it.
It is when I look at the diagram so see which pin to use and then go to the connector to connect the wire (looking from the other end) that gets me screwed up.
That and the fact that my old trailer dates back to sometime before standard configurations. Examples: I have orange and purple wire in the trailer harness. There is no orange or purple in the standard.

????? They are pictured both ways???????? Look at the 'right' one.

It ain't age, Dusty. I've had that problem since I smashed my Tinkertoy set.
OTOH, THE 'SHORTY' IS ASSEMBLED and it works!!!

Congratulations. I have good reason to believe that you will get almost as much use out of your shorty as you do the Mark V. "I am addicted" to mine.

Oh yes he does!!;) My Son is an accomplished mechanical engineer. He told me it is a common problem for engineers. They call it mirror image.
Yes - I think we all have it when least expected:eek:
That's why diagrams are so helpful.
