Drill press mode

What are the best type of wood bits to use when the SS510 is set up in the drill press configuration?

Are the large fluted brad point auger bits too aggressive?

Hi rdewinter,
Answer to your 1st question IMHO depends on what materials and what results that you want. A good description for you is available in PTWFE. In the 4th Edition, pg 83-84. In other editions, it would be in the drill press section. Another source would be this Sawdust Session and don't forget to check out the "blackboard": http://www.shopsmithacademy.com/SS_Archives/SS101/SS101_Drill_Bits.htm
I personally like the results that forstner bits give me.

The short answer to your 2nd question is No. But it depends what you are drilling.:)
