Sirius XM

Post by cincinnati »

I purchased a new Chevy and it came with 3 free months of Sirius XM. I'm at the end of the 3 months and need to renew if I want to keep it. I received an offer in the mail for 6 months for very, very cheap. My guess so they can get your card number and do the auto renew thing to lock you in.
I have been on a mission to not renew any magazine that does the auto renew thing. You know how it goes, You forget your end date than WHAM! locked into another two years. Happened to me on cable.

My question- I like the XM radio, not the auto renew thing. How is Sirius XM as a company to deal with? Do they play tricks or good to deal with?

I had sirius a long time ago, got on the auto renew thing,( I think it was every 3 months) never had a problem, but if you want to avoid auto renew hassles, I suggest a pre-paid visa card gift card. But that adds to your cost.
IF you really like it I think they used to offer a lifetime membership (lifetime of the radio) check the website

They play tricks . NEVER AUTO PAY WITH THEM. Played hell to get them to cancel, had to threaten them with a complaint to the Ohio Attorney General to end the BS.

After some bad experience with Sirius I have determined that if buy another car I will not let them even begin the trial membership.
I want absolutely nothing to do with Sirius XM!!!!!!!!!!!

My story I got a new car and got the trial membership. It ended and I didn't re up because I didn't like it. About 6 months later I got a notice that my account was being auto renewed. I called and complained saying I didn't have Sirius. Instead of correcting the situation all they did was enabled my radio to get Sirius. I was livid, that is when I noticed they had another guys credit card number. So I called them. It took hours for me to convince them they activated my account using someone else's credit card number. One guy actually asked me why I don't just shut up and get free Sirius the other guy is paying for it.

That is when I really got mad and demanded they remove my name, radio number and all credit cards on file for my name and radio number from their data base. They really didn't see a problem with me getting Sirius on someone else's buck. And more or less said I was stupid for not using it even though I knew someone else had paid for it.

Now the best part about 2 weeks later I get a refund check for the unused portion of my Sirius account. Again I call and basically the initial person and a supervisor told me I was stupid for calling keep the check. I said it belonged to someone else and their take is if the guy bitches we will deal with that.

I cashed the check figured I was due some compensation for spending hours on the phone, at least 10 phone calls, trying to tell them they credit my account using someone else's credit card.

NO WAY WOULD I EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THAT COMPANY!!!!!!!!!

I bought XM several years ago and only cancelled because I had hardwired everything in that vehicle and sold it. No problem whatsoever when I cancelled. Considering purchasing it again this Spring when I give my truck it's annual once over.

I have it and really like it, especially on long drives. I hardly listen to CDs anymore.
