Almost NO SS stuff on Craigslist in KC area

Post by bobgroh »

Interesting (although it may be weather related) - for the last several weeks, there has only been 4 'Shopsmith' listings on local Craigslist (Kansas City, Missouri). Two of those are for SS manual, one for a 10E (partial) and the fourth is for Mark VII. For the last several months, the listings have been somewhat sparse (and way too pricey).

Has anyone else noticed any changes in their local listings??

There has been none in Tallahassee since before Christmas. The number of postings for tools is way down as well.

Check out Ebay

I think the current list is up around 200 items on Ebay. I don't use Craig's List, due to the problems that have happened in my area.

I am on the Kansas Side.

Ebay results don't count for this little survey - only Craigslist. Totally different markets (i.e. shipping vs. no shipping, etc). I check Craigslist every now and then and, in this instance, I have seen a marked drop in listings. From what I have heard from a few other folks around the country, this drop has also occurred in their areas. Just an interesting factoid. I did go to a local estate sale last a couple of days ago and they did have a Mark VII but the price was pretty darned steep ($500). Even if I waited for 50% day, the price is still way, way too high. The only other listing around here now is for another Mark VII for the magic $500.

Just an interesting observation.
