Have there been different versions of the speed control dial on the Mark 5 machines?

I found a Mark 5 with what looks to be a steel control dial. Instead of letters, it has numbers to indicate speed. It is on a Magna casting.

Will add pictures this afternoon.

How about a pix (front and back).

Here is what it looks like. Any older guys out there seen one of these before?

At some point, the first owner replaced the original switch with an industrial push button switch box mounted on the legs.

Didn't notice the drive hub.

I thought that too, but I can't find any pictures of clones that look like that either. Maybe an early revision? I figure someone with an earlier serial number could tell me if theirs is the same.

Can you get a closer picture of the speed dial? Could it be hand made?

I'll send a close up after a while. But if it was hand made, it was made on machines by a talented machinist. The graduation ticks on the edge were cut by an end mill (nice sharp edges). The numbers were stamped, but the spacing and rotation is perfect.

More than the speed control dial is 'different'.

The belt cover and vent plate are from an early greenie("A" headstock).

The top of the headstock looks like an "A" casting.

The area under the power switch 'location' appears to have the push plate(with pointer).

The quill lock bushing is outside, it belongs inside(end only sees the outside).

The rest appears gray. Maybe repainted or not.

The main table is Greenie vintage.

I must raise the ?, what is inside the headstock. Maybe SS stuff, maybe something else(considering the knob etc.).

The quill lock wing nut is not apparent.

Where are the speed markings?
