Fence Building

Post by Gene Howe »

Did some shop reorganizing and found a bunch of old Incra stuff.
Gonna make a fence for the Shorty Bill made for me.
The Jointech fence has me spoiled.
Stay tuned.

I like this dual adjuster approach. I suspect that it provides great stability for the fence. Since the fence is not split, I assume this is intended for saw table use only. However, with dual adjusters, the split fence might work as well.

Yeah, I had 'em both so I figured might as well use 'em. You'll notice that they set on a smaller piece of ply. Dual T tracks will be installed in the lower piece of ply and inserts onto the little one.
All this came about because of my experience trying to adjust the stock fence by "hair". Usually, the quill feed would be my method to adjust a tiny bit but, a ZCI got in the way.
