I dropped the motor pan tonight to get to my Emerson motor with the squealing output bearing. As others have found, the screws attaching the motor to the pan were very tight. A#3 Phillips tip on the Harbor Freight impact screwdriver made easy removal! Thanks for the tip Bill and JPG!

Ha! Since there are no instructions I read all the reviews. Then I took he thing apart to lube/grease. It is reversible, but the knurled knob is just a keeper, it has no other function. I keep 3 of these impact drivers in my shop, all from HF. I find I need to use one almost every day I am in the shop. I use this tool to tighten screws, bolts and nuts almost as often as I use it to loosen the same. It really shines when starting Phillips head sheet metal screws in new drilled holes to prevent rounding out the screw head slots. Example, replacing the #8 screws with #10 screws in the "A" headstock for the motor pan and belt housing because the #8 screws had stripped the threads in the headstock casing.
