Jigsaw table problem

Can someone out there please help me with my Jigsaw table problem?...I have sent for last week... but not yet received my manual and parts breakdown from Shopsmith...

But I think that I paid attention as I took this apart and refurbished it...Of course there is always the possibility that there was something wrong with it before I started...

Everything seems to be working properly and it is cutting nicely ...Except the table still has play and rocks in the trunnion...It looks like the two mating parts male tab and and female slot ...have too much play..in the trunnion....This seems to allow the table to rock but not move off of the adjustment...

I would appreciate any help and advice...

I just checked, Steve doesn't have an ER. Has a Mark 5.

Thanks fellas,

I have been digging through all of the old posts all morning..(stormy day)...And I'm now on page 101...And I did manage to find a PDF of the parts breakdown....

Sadly no easy fix evident there ...i can see no missing part...And the only suggestion that I have found so far is to tighten Part #32 Trunnion bolt...

Of course I have already done that and the trunnion still seems at least to me to be rotating on that bolt to the extent of the excess clearance in that trunnion..

I an now starting to wonder if perhaps this Jigsaw might be made up of unrelated parts and the two parts of that trunnion just don't match each other?...I was hoping that perhaps there was a missing liner in the trunnion and it had somehow gone missing ...but as I examined the drawing...I can see no missing part?

Still waiting for someone smarter than me to just show me the obvious?....I'm still stumped!...

Can you post a picture of the trunnion bolt assembly with washer, etc. in situ?

I sure will ....Just as soon as I can get Fran out to the shop...but It looks just like all of the other pictures to me...

Here are some pictures..Hopefully you will be able to see the Trunion bolt Part #32that I am refering to and the leval may be able to indicate just how much the table can shift ..

The trunnion bolt looks right (some have a spring between the bolt and washer). The trunnion bolt head is bored to accept the 5/32" allen wrench. The allen wrench is used to make sure the trunnion bolt is tight (similar to the miter gauge protractor bolt).

(Dumb question) Assuming you have torqued the trunnion bolt with the allen wrench, are the bolts that attach the trunnion to the table tight?

You are right on the money...That trunnion bolt is exactly as you described With the spring and washer...and yes I have indeed tightened it with an allen wrench as a cheater...but there is a limit to how tight you can tighten it with that spring assembly...It always maintains a little slack in that spring...and yes the bolts attaching the table and trunnion are all tight...

That's why I'm stumped..
