Appleton, WI SS Demo show

Post by "Wild Bad Bob" »

Well fellow SS persons, it was nice!!! Mike Young was the demo person, when we got there he was at the sales counter was closing a sale. 43 year ild nephew and I played a bit dumb, he asked some questions on what we we do in the shop and he was not aggressive on selling so we told him our histories, nephew is a turner and a 54 greenie, mine is in my lower machine history, he was a bit "basic" I thought talking down as he was explaining the new Pro Moter, and a bit Corn Poun, but showed us its speed range, unlimited power, ect, I was impressed with it. He was not trying to sell us a new SS, but a new Power Pro conversion kit. Heck I almost bought one!!! For the Goldie rebuild I am going to do this fall. Discount after discount, Lowes charge card, being a vet, over 60, buy this weekend, ect, the $1700 was down to 1200 almost!!!!!!! I bet they are still making $$$ at that, I bet $600 is about what the unit is worth, plus some profit, which every company/business is intitled to and needs.
I mention the forum and some bad sales person in Atlanta, did not name names but knew and apologized for him. Over all it was a positive experience. I am going to add up the rebuild of the Goldie, which is mostly bearings and a belt, and see how much a Power Pro will cost with the off set and some Tennessee Horse trading!!! I will be the negotiator, and see what they on the cuff will sell one for. A bit of a wish list, but that speed range it has on the low end is great!!!!! IMHOP
