That is one good looking 10! Speed changer and shaper/jointer attachment and a lot more little goodies!

200 is a good price on the Madison one also.

Never, Never, Never, Never, Never cut "10" way tubes.

The're too damn thick and too much work anyway!:D

JPG, as I mentioned on the last shorty tread, I just cant see doing that to any SS, I have learned here in my brief time, these machines have heritage and personality, like a living being. Even though it was a great job of doing it and mechanically is great, I just shudder at doing it. I understand about floor space and I need some too, maybe do it with some really rescue SS!!!

Couldn't have said it better.

If you want to make a "shorty," get some Mark way tubes, and cut them. They will fit on your Model 10. Just don't crank down the locks. (They "ain't" printing Model 10 tubes any more.)

OK, my next-door neighbor wanted to know why the ER was such a good lathe. (He's the same guy who "Jethro Gibbs-ed" my ER.) so I handed him a carriage. "Pretty heavy." Next, I handed him the lathe tool rest assembly. "Nice and heavy." After that, I handed him a pivot base. "Does that come with a (hernia) truss?" Next one was a single way tube. "OK! I see why it's so stable!" (I didn't hand it to him, just planted the lower end, and tipped the upper end over.) Took both hands for this "squid" to lift it. Not too bad, considering I'm twice his age, and he works out.

I have no aversions to cutting Mark 5/V tubes since they are many around, and they are 'still in print'.

A mini is a very nice spt power source!!!!

Agree, if and when I go dwarf, it will be a drill press and sander set up.

The demo last weekend had a lifter on it. Smoother then snood!!!! May get one soon!!!
