Bandsaw Metal Cutting Blade

Post by Lodgepole »

I need to cut 1/4" thick brass to make a new bale pull.

I have found only one source, Mark's Tool's, on the internet. Does anyone else know of any other sources?

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Shopsmith lists bandsaw blades to cut non-ferrous metals. I have used them successfully to cut aluminum though nothing 1/4" thick.

In aluminum, the blades do tend to clog. I don't think that would happen in brass.

You can try a CNC Plasma Table http://arclightcnc.com - they are great at making clean and accurate cuts through any type of metal. I don't know if you want to purchase one as they can be a little expensive, but if you are going to be cutting metal on a regular basis I highly recommend one. These can be set up in your garage or shop and come in a variety of sizes.

Thanks for the idea, but this is a single metal working project. But, who knows what projects I may try in the future!

I'm sorry. I see this is from 2014 and you didn't need a table. Just trying to help. :)
