I now own one of these but since shop time has been very limited I have not had the opportunity to do much with it.
First this is hand held planer. It has been on my wish list for a couple of years now, not this model or any other model, just a generic wish for one.
I was able to get it at Lowe's on Veteran Day (10% off) so it was a decent price as I look at it.

After looking at several companies and comparing prices to features and reading some reviews I picked this as what I could afford and still have a feature set that was reasonable.
Just a few points:
6 Amp motor
16,500 RPM (X 2 Blades)
Left or Right dust ports
10 depth stops
2 carbide blades (can be flipped over to reveal a second cutting edge)
Chamfer Grooves 3 sizes
Has a dust bag and edge guide included.
Storage bag included.
Note the Lowe's page says 1 blade, this is incorrect it has two blades.
The depth set is by way of turning a knob. It has a P (park pos.?)
Next it 0 (zero) then counts up by 1/128" with labels at 1/64, 1/32, 3/64, 1/16, and ends with 5/64. So the max is 5/64" which is good for the motor size and cutting width of just short of 3-1/4".

I just made this table up for myself, might have to tweak it a little to add more labels and finish the metric numbers... something to keep me busy.
It can cut rabbets to about a 1/2" deep, don't think I'll use the feature but I need it is there.
Sound level is up there with older style routers, maybe even a bit higher and I'm inclined to say wear some good protection.
I have a spring project that will let me get some good use out of the planer, I'll know a lot more by then and will report back with more details.
