My DIY box came yesterday. Decided to paint while I was at it. The colors are not normal Shopsmith and might not be to everyone's taste. (Rustoleum Hammered Black and Dark Bronze)
Still debating on the stickers, although I'll probably put them on because when I removed the big one off the pulley cover the paint (and texture) came off with it, so the outline is faintly visible.
My high-concept was to stay true to Shopsmith paint schemes of old - two tone, with darker color on the left. I had good luck with the dark bronze in the past. When not next to true grey it looks like a medium dark gray. I also knew that the hammered black had a hint of brown. For off-the-shelf colors I'm pretty happy. I was a bit impatient so I baked both primer and topcoats for an hour at 250.

I've been in a love/hate battle with myself over the paint job ever since I posted the pictures. The fact is, I really like the colors, but I fear I'm going to go down a dark path of deciding to repaint all my SS tools to match!!!
