Please bring back the view unread post icon and get rid of all that excess, repetitive, verbage.

Have ya CHANGED your board preferences in the last 2 hours or so?
SS 500(09/1980), DC3300, jointer, bandsaw, belt sander, Strip Sander, drum sanders,molder, dado, biscuit joiner, universal lathe tool rest, Oneway talon chuck, router bits & chucks and a De Walt 735 planer,a #5,#6, block planes. ALL in a 100 square foot shop.

Yep, on my list. Several places the update replaced my instructions for icons with verbage.

Surprising number of backward-compatibility issues for a 3.0 to 3.1 version change.

On the plus side, version 3.1 had been through a full formal 3rd party security audit before release which should minimize future security problems.

I appreciate the site operators' efforts to modernize and improve the look and feel of the forums, but the new format for presenting the list of unread posts is busy, confusing and redundant.

Thank you for the work you're doing, but please reconsider this change.

If you click on the "quick links" tab at /near the top left corner of the page, there is a drop down box where you can select "new posts"
