Shopsmith shipping thru Fed-Ex

Post by kaynyne »

 Just like to know if others have a problem with Fed Ex shipping.
I ordered some parts last Friday, 1/23/15. I called back on Monday 1/26/15 to add another item to the list. Shopsmith customer service is the best I ever dealt with, but they told me the first shipment was on its way and I would have to make another order. I said that was fine so I ordered a new fan sheave and it came from the factory via Fed-Ex. The first shipment came via USPS and I got it the next day. The second order hasn't arrived yet.
Here's the funny part. I went on their tracking site and it went from the factory to Grove City, OH. Next it went to Clinton, PA, then back to Grove City, OH. 2 days later it was in Franklin, PA which is 35 miles from my home. It left there yesterday morning at 5:52 AM. Haven't heard from it since. I can't get any info from tracking it. The last time I made a purchase it did the exact same thing. I wish Shopsmith would use USPS all the time for small purchases, and UPS for larger ones. I went to the P.O. to see if they heard anything and they told me that Fed-Ex is bad for speedy deliveries.
Has anyone else have delivery problems like this, or is it just because I live in the sticks. Thanks

Haven't ordered anything from the mother ship, other than a band saw blade, in the last 6 months. But, I don't recall it was overly long getting here.
I'm in the sticks, too. Items ordered from other retailers that are shipped with FEDEX seem to arrive in a timely manner.
Not near as fast as Amazon orders via UPS, though.
Seems that things sent through the USPS or a combo, are the slowest, regardless of the shipper.

I'm in Somerset PA, about 2 hours south and east of you. All my in stock orders from Shopsmith, including FedEx, show up within 3 days.

We are right on the Turnpike, so that probably makes a big difference.

Thanks,
I know I ordered something from a place and I needed it right away, so I said to Fed-Ex it to me overnight, they laughed and said it would be a minimum 3 days, unless I live in a big city. They said overnight is only for larger cities. I could pay for overnight or regular mail it would come the same day. I think I'm going to move. LOL Oh well, such is life. HEY! IT"S HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let me get it on and get to work. Thanks for the feed back.

The only problem I've had with FedEx was when I purchased my Mark 7 Powerpro. The FedEx truck burst into flames in Pennsylvania! I was told all cargo was lost, but the quick thinking driver was able to push my crate off the truck into the snow saving it!. It arrived late and covered in soot, but not damaged! Shopsmith offered to ship a different unit, but after careful examination and testing all was well... :)

For the past year, every delivery I was to receive from Fed Ex, was delivered to the local terminal, sent out for delivery, then at the end of the day, the tracking status is changed to "Handed over to USPS. Which now takes up to 3 days longer to get the package...... In the mean time, 2 Fed Ex trucks drive by my house each day I sit and wait for my package.
