Kind a sad. I think two conclusions can be made from this.
You can not enter the market charging premium price for non premium machines. I first saw Steel City at a woodworking show, probably 20 years ago and viewed their machines as having Grizzly quality finish with unknown reliabilty. I then asked the price and wow was I low. Two machines I was interested it had Powermatic prices. Stupid!
Second thing is the market for home wood working is quickly shrinking. Less and less people are "doing it themselves". Me and three other guys are the only ones that mow our own lawn and do house repairs in the neighborhood(asbout 30 houses). The rest have lawn service and get the plumber, carpenter, handy man, etc. to what is needed.
Many of the neighbors can't even cut a limb off a tree because the don't own a saw.
