Today in the shop (dust port add-on Dewalt saw)

Post by reible »

Just been one of those weeks where I get mostly small things done and it is only Tuesday????

I picked up a DeWalt DWE575 circular saw a while back. One thing that was missing was a dust port. I guess the ruff and tough guys and gals who use these don't need no stinking dust ports...... Well it is OK that way but they do have a kit to add a dust port, yes an additional fee for this. I was short on the $35 for free shipping from amazon so this kit was added on to the order so it made the lower limit for the free shipping, and well, it arrived today.

It is a DWE575DC, in case you have the saw and want one.

Here is my saw before the kit is put on:

The kit contains only a couple of parts, well I mean what else would you need?

The lever for raising the saw guard needed to be angled to clear the dust port and this is the only thing that is replaced on the saw.

A couple of screw and the dust port is attached and your done. Have not tested it yet, perhaps another day. At least I have it on now so it is not sitting around trying to get lost in the mess.
