Question Regarding PowerPro Headstock

Post by RWYoung1 »

I finally got around to doing a DIY PowerPro Upgrade a couple of weeks ago (note a previous thread). I'm satisfied and impressed, but I have a question. When I stop an operation, and then turn off the power, the screen remains lit for maybe 5-10 seconds with the previously set speed showing, and the message "Low Voltage." When the screen does go dark, it then flashes a couple of times before it stays dark. I've tried turning off the power switch and unplugging it immediately, or after stopping an operation unplugging it without turning off the power switch, and the same result occurs each time. (I have never turned off the power switch or unplugged the machine without first having stopped the operation by pressing the "off" button.) Is this normal?

Ditto!!!
Yes the low voltage words and the flashing are indeed normal. You can just pull the plug, or switch off the circuit breaker - You will get the same result. The headstock takes a few seconds to turn off. kinda like a home computer. "Stuff" is stored.
