Building stairs

Post by masonsailor2 »

We moved into this new house knowing it had one code issue which is a short set of stairs leading to the den. Over the years people have added to both upper and lower floor levels and the treads and risers have been refaced resulting in radical variances in tread width and riser height ( over an inch) and also there was no handrail. We had friends over and one took a fall which was non injury but forced the issue to replace them. So cubes on hold and today is build a new set of stairs. The wood is steamed beechwood which I glued up yesterday and just finished surface sanding and routering this morning.
