Not Woodworking - A Way to Save $$

Post by db5 »

If you use these Airwick and other brand deodorizers you know the refills are outrageous. I refill my own with stuff from Wal-Mart. Could probably use a 40 percent off coupon from Michael's and save money. I can also go online and buy a gallon of the stuff for $100 but that seems a bit overkill.

I recently bought a 32 oz. bottle of liquid to pour over a potpourri pot for $2.00 and it seems to work almost as well.

Gently pry the top off, refill it about ¾ - don’t overfill - and press the top back on. Takes a lot of pressure and don’t damage the wick. At some point it becomes useless. Instead of $5 for two 1/2 bottle refills I get 6 3/4 bottles for $5-6. With the new stuff it will be about 15 cents per refill.
