Sale

Post by Bruce »

I ordered some things off of the 'overstock sale', and one item (thickness gauge) is back ordered. I guess the sale is going well.

Sales are a good time to buy the things you need. Apparently you aren't the only person who knows that. :)

Actually, I am a doubter on this subject. It has happened more than occasionally that Shopsmith has a sale and sales items go on back order.

Whatever!!! Believe (don't doubt) this is a discounted way to pick up small items.

I am getting some new scrapers and a supply of scroll saw blades :D All these things have to be ordered on the internet. They are not available locally.

Charlese, I am a believer. I BELIEVE that items are placed on the email special list without first confirming that there is stock on hand. I BELIEVE this even though there are times when the sale is listed as an OVERSTOCK Sale.

BTW, I maintain a want list and watch for these specials.

I usually check the night the special is posted and either order on line that night or call early (for me :p ) in the morning. A few months back I called the morning and the CS person (one of the new women) did not even have that item listed as on sale!!

However the list of things I plan to purchase from SS is VERY small! Either I have already purchased it or found a suitable substitute.

I reduced my "doubter / pet peeve / frustration" list on the specials to one thing.

It's NOT A SPECIAL!! No special savings of any kind!!!

Why in tarnation advertise it as a "current special" when its the same retail price? What gives with that?? As a reminder that they have it (or might not depending on stock) should we choose to buy it?

I have also noticed they are reducing the number of items on "theme" sales.

I do enjoy the idea that they are trying to provide us with a variety of products and a peace of mind over the long haul, but I shake my head at their marketing plan (or incomprehensible lack there of). I used to enjoy knowing that they had things for sale on a cycle so I could know when to save up, but even that seems to have taken a running jump off the cliff!

I guess it is nice to have such few and petty things to complain about! :D

Be well,
Ben

Yeah, I have noticed that as well a couple of times. So I asked, "what's so special about that?". Your right Ben, just a reminder that they have it............

Always keeping an eye out for those specials! ;) The specials have gotten me to pull the trigger on a few small items, but for the most part I decide that's still to much $$$ or nah, don't need that......

Just yesterday recieved my special order. Ordered 8-25, received via USPS on 8-29. Especially good since it was not shipped until 8-27.

USPS only took another 2 days to go cross country, from Ohio to California.
