Gas prices , again

Gas prices , again
Gas prices seemed a bit lower last Wed. so I filled up my truck at $2.029 per gal. I took my wife's car to the same station the next day and paid
$2.169. Anyone else have similar problems? that's 14 cents in less than 24 hrs.

20¢ is common around here in MO. Fortunately, our prices are lower than most parts of the country.
Re: Gas prices , again
Yes, ours fluctuates that much in a day or so regularly (Texarkana, AR).

If the price shoots upward all of a sudden, you guys are to blame.
It was 2.399 here last Thursday.

Re: Gas prices , again
Here in WI they announced some price increases in the Midwest because, wait, you guessed it, refinery work, it has gone up about .20 in the last week.

Re: Gas prices , again
Price jumped 30 cents a gallon here one day last week. But, I really don't care. I burn as little gas as I can manage so it hardly affects me.
I filled the day before the increase, so I can probably last a month until I need to fill again. Maybe it will drop a few cents by next month.

Re: Gas prices , again
Gas here in Utah is higher than the national average for some unknown reason and we have a refinery right here in Salt Lake City. It never varies drastically from day to day but when it does go up or down it is usually 2 or 3 cents a day over a week or 10 days. Right now it is 2.52 and that is the lowest it has been in a long time.

Re: Gas prices , again
I saw in the paper this morning that there would be no copa increase for social security. Apparently the low gas prices was a big factor in inflation index.
That makes sense lower gas prices figure the inflation index once it is done you raise it up again for another year.

I'm pretty sure you meant to type COLA instead of copa. (Cost of Living Adjustment)Ed in Tampa wrote:I saw in the paper this morning that there would be no copa increase for social security. Apparently the low gas prices was a big factor in inflation index.

How much does it cost to transport crude out to the middle of nowhere?
Transporting gasoline etc.(refined crude) has to be cheaper.
I really feel for those having to pay the prices close to $2 mentioned above.
30 cent increases here are not uncommon.
