old gray stand alone scroll saw

I have an old gray stand alone shop smith scroll saw, model #2010b. I understand it has LONG ago been discontinued and parts are a problem. I don't have a manual to give a part number or a name for the broken piece but it is the alloy formed part with the set screw that holds the assembly that slides up and down. I'm not having any luck with finding a used replacement part and now wonder if this tool and stand has any value or use to me. Anyone's thoughts would be appreciated.

How about posting a picture of the unit and the defective part so we all know what your situation is for sure?

Ed is right on! If you can post a photo or two of your problem, we can have a much better idea of your problem. You may be asking about a jig saw rather than a scroll saw, but if yours is a scroll saw here are some answers/

I have an old grey scroll saw and have found parts to be interchangeable. The big changes between the two (grey and green) are the front top cover and blade fastening system. (blade blocks)
You can even upgrade your grey model this way.

P.S. The only part that has a set screw is one of the blade blocks/

The pressure foot clamp on either model is a knob.

Here is a picture of the old gray scroll saw broken part. I was unsuccessful with finding a picture or part # from any Shopsmith source. A replacement part would be my first choice for repair.

Sorry it's sideways - it was right side up in preview! The broken part is closest to the hole in the wood.

I have one of the older gray machines and I took the liberty of scanning the parts information. I don't know if this is the vintage you have or not, revision code is for 4/88 and the saw is from 8/27/90.
I'm having trouble seeing the part in the image but my eyes are not what they use to be so perhaps that is the issue.

After making a couple of changes to the image it looks like it might be a blade holder but it not at all like what mine has.

Would the blade change upgrade do the trick? It is item number 555706 on the site.
