Ya the STORM of the century, we have a local TV station and they refer to there weather team as Storm Team 4, and they sure dramatize the weather, a competing station sez as a jab at them, "we prepare you, not scare you".

The front came through here earlier today. If you listened to the News last night you would have dug a storm cellar. Came through about 10:30 was over about 11:00 and rained about 1/4 inch.
Nothing! I am so sick of the weather people trying to hype every weather event.

If the sun is going to be out they claim you better stay in or risk being burned to death.
If it is going to rain you better get a boat.
If a front is coming through get the kids pack up the house and head for the hills.
And Lord help your children if a hurricane is out in the Atlantic, no one is safe, and the head count will be in the thousands.

Some one should hold them accountable!

Ed, I feel your pain!!!!
Last week we had some high winds and temps about 5* for a high and -5* at night, the weather media was going nuts with it, "Deadly" wind chills!!!!
In the 60's I was a youngen with a paper route, there was NO excuse not to deliver your route, and walked to school, most people only had one car, so mom did not have one to drive us and in the metro areas, there was no school buses, you walked. They did not close them do to temps. There was no such thing as wind chill factor yet. And yes Ed it was up hill both ways ;)

I'm loving it. It is so nice when a big storm like this hits the sleazy part of the country. There is no place that needs it as much as DC. They give us crap 365 days a year, so it is fitting that some crap gets returned to them.
