Back when the Shopsmith Storage Cabinets that were designed specifically to fit between the legs of your Shopsmith MARK V, I wanted them so bad, but couldn't justify the price.

So years passed and now, they are no longer available, so whats a guy to do? I built them.

Here is a close up of the pulls, which are made out of 1" x 1/8" aluminum strips, polished and attached using Stainless Steel screws to prevent Galvanic corrosion to 3/8" x 3/4" stand-offs.

To protect the cabinet edges and the Shopsmith legs, I added UHMW rub strips to help guide it in place with out scratching anything.

All in all I say they turned out pretty nice, if I do say so my self.

I have two of the three of those. I was getting them one at a time and then didn't have the money to get the third when they got rid of them.

The problem is that once you add the lift assist they don't fit any more, even two don't make it. I've heard that if you take the wheels off then they fit but that sort of defeats the purpose. So I have one turn the correct way, the second is turned 90 degrees and well I never got the third one.....

Yours look nice, good job.

I got 3 of them at a estate sale, paid $125.00 for them. Had to stack them because of the lift assist. I really like yours.

Thank you for the specs; I am trying to figure out how I want to set up storage for mine because I want to integrate drawers along with storage for my jointer into the design.

I'm envious of the drawers. I need to convert one of my cabinet doors into drawers. I love seeing how everyone does their storage though

There was a set of three cabinets on Ebay for $750.00 (buy it now I believe). Too rich for me.
