4" Dust Collection

Post by MalcolmMor »

The DC3000 overview on the Product Catalog page says something about a 4" inlet being available, but I don't see it anywhere. Is this something SS used to make and is no longer offered? If it does exist, does it work well or is the DC3000 not powerful enough?

Yes, it used to be offered but has been discontinued for many years.
Check out this thread, Dust collector 4" inlet assembly, for a good discussion on this subject and an alternative to the 4" adaptor. :)

This link and the following video are also helpful when designing a system, and I believe contains some discussion on collection diameter and its effects.

I believe it simply reduced air velocity too low.

i.e. insufficient cfm for that size tube/hose.
