Finished Bubinga bowl

Finished up the Bubinga bowl today. Bubinga is interesting wood. Very nice grain pattern to it.

As you have observed, Mason, - Agreed - That is a beautiful piece of wood and a gorgeous turned bowl! Congratulations on your work!
Of particular notice is the smooth transition between the sides and the bowl bottom. Very Nice!

The bowl is for one of my oldest friends who I believe will be using it as a fruit bowl. She requested that profile from an earlier bowl I had made and in a dark wood.

I use Danish oil finish almost exclusively unless it is obviously going to be used for direct food contact in which case I use mineral oil. This one I used Watco.
