I have no specifications and I do not have a pin that I could describe. You probably already know that it is item #79 in the exploded parts view but when you click on it you are shown the next higher assembly (Headstock Lock Assembly 513014). Based on my past experience, if you call Shopsmith you will be told that they do not sell that item as a piece part.

I believe it is a 1/8" X 3/4" roll pin. I will check tomorrow to make sure. Any Ace, hardware or big box store carry these roll pins.

Well I will tell you how to order it from shopsmith if you would like to get the real part.
On the headstock it is now an assembly for like $24..... so when I needed one I wasn't about to spend that much money for such a small part and didn't need the rest of the assembly. So I tried the hardware stores and no one had them in this length, it is a 1/8" x 7/8".
I was able to locate the same part on the 500 carriage handle and it was $.80. The part number is 455862.
Since I was in a hurry I got a 1" length from the hardware with the intent of cutting/grinding off the 1/8" but decide against it and left it hanging out and when I put in an order to shopsmith I got a couple of the real ones in with the other stuff I ordered so the postage wasn't such a downer.
If you want to cut/grind them just don't let them heat up.......

92373A181 Roll pin. But you gotta buy a bag of 100.
DOUBLE CHECK the length.
