All-in-One Computer
Anyone who might have experience with an All-In-One Computer, I would sure appreciate your feed back.
I passed on one today. I hope I don't regret it. It was on-sale in the military exchange where I shop. Nice, compact, loads of memory and hard drive and only $450 (loaded with Windows 10). Computer by HP.

Re: All-in-One Computer
Dusty, I dont know what is in the military stores, but my rule is, "'If it sounds to be to be true', dont". I bet a rehab one, if it comes with some type of return/guarantee policy, maybe a good deal, only if YOY need it, other wise dont. IMHO
If you dont need one now, I have found a better or equal deal will come along about the time you do.

Seems all the computer guts are in the monitor case.

Re: All-in-One Computer
I have had a HP Envy 23 all in one for 1 1/2 years. Came with Windows 8 which I dumped for the free upgrade to 10. Love it. Fast and has yet to fart!
I keep it in my wood shop despite the sawdust.

Re: All-in-One Computer
If you need a new desk top computer, I would get it. My guess is that they are no longer carrying that model in the store. My son picked up a top of the line gaming laptop for about the twice the price of this all in one for that reason. The exchanges normally do not carry refurbished items. I have seen a couple of things on their website clearly marked with warranties but never seen any in the store.

Please confirm $50. If so, that's a steal. I've generally observed BX prices to be higher than elsewhere for computer products, even on sale or clearance, of course there are always exceptions.
Personally, I don't like the concept of all-in-ones. I have built all but one of my PCs, usually reusing some components in an upgrade cycle and often repurposing the old working removed parts. With the Ai1, ad I understand, there isn't much that can be reused at end of life. That said, at the rigjt cost, they may be a good option for some folks.

Typo - big time. $450. Laid on the shift key too long.roy_okc wrote:Dusty, dusty wrote:Anyone who might have experience with an All-In-One Computer, I would sure appreciate your feed back.

I think Dusty's $ quote is a typo.ERLover wrote:Dusty, I dont know what is in the military stores, but my rule is, "'If it sounds to be to be true', dont". I bet a rehab one, if it comes with some type of return/guarantee policy, maybe a good deal, only if YOY need it, other wise dont. IMHO

The BX/PX along with the Commissary does not sell crap. It is all top line name brand mostly. It is just cheaper and no tax.
You don't need a receipt to return anything.
I went to the Commissary today to buy Ghram crackers to make a cheese cake. They were out of the standard crackers. I went to Wall Mart. The box was $3. The same box in the Commissary was $2. Oh and no tax in the Commissary.
